HES Partners with ESP Vision Software for Wholehog 3 Users

High End Systems has entered into a strategic partnership with ESP Vision Inc. to provide Wholehog III lighting console users direct connectivity with ESP Vision software.

Using ground-breaking visualization technology, ESP Vision simulates all facets of a lighting fixture's capability and personality in real-time via a simple Ethernet connection with a Wholehog III console. Furthermore, the realistic, real-time visualization provides the user with a powerful toolset for creating spectacular shows and lighting designs.

Greg Jesse, president of ESP Vision Inc., states: "High End Systems / Flying Pig Systems have been the industry standard for lighting consoles for many years. As they move forward with their next generation of lighting products, ESP Vision will allow them to provide an added level of functionality to their users. Additionally, the integration between our products will allow a much more efficient workflow for the lighting programmer and designer."

Brad Schiller, HES director of Control Systems Development, adds: "We are excited to expand the visualization capabilities of the Wholehog III operating system. This integration applies not only to the Wholehog III console, but also to the new Hog iPC and Hog3PC systems. ESP Vision's ability to realistically simulate every aspect of automated fixtures is outstanding and unprecedented in terms of competing visualization software."

As part of the partnership, HES will sell the ESP Vision software to Wholehog III users through its dealer network. Lighting visualization with ESP Vision is accomplished directly with an Ethernet connection between the console and the visualization computer. No additional hardware is required.

ESP Vision provides lighting simulation software to the lighting and production industry for use in concert touring, broadcast events, corporate functions and theatrical applications. ESP Vision realistically simulates and displays color mixing, color and gobo wheel rolls, animation wheels, prism effects, frost, framing shutters, and virtually any other feature provided by moving or conventional fixtures on the market.

Additionally, photometric data -- including beam and field angle, and beam distance -- is accurately reproduced in the visualizer. Modeling plug-ins are currently available for use in 3D Studio Max and Autodesk VIZ. Future releases with plug-ins with Vectorworks will be announced soon.
