Infinium Launches Contact-Free Digital Fader
Ground-breaking features of the new fader include ultra-long life, high-level precision, and a fully adjustable ‘feel’. Providing DJs and audio and lighting engineers with unparalleled fingertip control, the infinium fader allows for full and simple personalisation to suit the user - whatever his demands. The fader comes in tree travel lengths: 45mm, 60mm and 100mm.
Infinium’s technology involves reflecting infra-red light onto phototransistors via parabolic reflectors, and a shutter which generates the required modified Grey Code. The customer can determine the exact points at which the fader cuts in or out. Unlike conventional faders, which have a limited lifetime, the new technology employed means the new-style faders last forever and have no quality degradation. By separating the mechanics from the electronics, Infinium can offer many different supply options to meet different client’s exact requirements in terms of assembly and cost, and the company has an application support team offering full back-up to customers wanting full integration with their products.
Despite offering such major advantages over conventional products, the Infinium fader is also affordably priced, thanks to many different supply options. For OEMs, the product is backed by comprehensive application support and a choice of supply options.
Infinium Technologies is an Anglo-Dutch venture from CliffGroup, the internationally respected plastics engineering company, and Digimix, the specialist developer of high-end electrical components, and draws its expertise from these parent companies. The new technology has been developed and patented by their combined R&D teams over the past two years.
