Solid State Logic Helps TJ Media Deliver Karaoke in Surround Sound
Seoul-based TJ Media, a company that designs and manufactures karaoke machines, has bought a Solid State Logic C200 digital production console for its in-house recording studio.
The karaoke craze is big business in the Far East and TJ Media has been quick to capitalise on this. Not only does the company export its machines to customers in China, Japan and Thailand, but it also creates content for the players – hence the need for its own recording studio.
TJ Media already owns a Solid State Logic XL9000 K series console, which is used for recording and track-laying. The new C200 digital production console, which was installed at the end of August, is designed to complement this and is currently being used for mixing projects.
Mr Je Ho Shin, head of SSL’s Korean distributor HanSeo International, says: “TJ Media is pioneering 5.1 surround sound karaoke and new methods of distributing content over the internet to ensure that its customers have the latest titles with the highest sonic quality. The company is adamant that its music must be sonically excellent and this is why it decided to invest in a C200 console. The combination of high quality audio and facilities for 5.1 surround made this desk the ideal choice for TJ Media’s requirements.”
TJ Media’s karaoke machines can be found in nightclubs, bars and even private residences. The company is listed on the Seoul stock exchange and is widely regarded as one of the most successful karaoke providers in Asia.
