InnovaSON Increases Presence in South Korea
Outside the United States of America, South Korea has the largest number of Methodist churches in the world. Many of these can accommodate upwards of 2,000 seats and include state of the art audio and video equipment for the multiple bands, choirs and speakers which go to make up a modern church service.
Manna Methodist Church, which is the biggest church in Bundang City, has recently completed a total upgrade of its audio equipment that included the installation of a new Meyer Sound line array system and an InnovaSON Sy80 digital mixing console.
With a congregation of around 10,000 and seating for up to 5,000 at a time Manna Church aims to provide a cultural centre for the community hosting local events as well as providing the usual services for the church goers of Bundang City.
Manna Church’s sound engineer, Deacon Chang Hoon Joo, is extremely pleased with his choice of console citing ease of use and sound quality as the primary benefits of the Sy80 over the alternative digital consoles they considered.
Elsewhere in Korea… French sound designer Mr. Laurent Dumont specified an InnovaSON Sy48 for a new production of Notre Dame de Paris at the 3,048 seat main theatre of the Sejong Center for Performing Arts. Mr. Dumont was already well aware of the benefits and quality of InnovaSON digital consoles as these had been used in previous performances of the French musical comedy, so for the Korean shows he simply recalled the pre-prepared show files from his portable USB drive and made on-site adjusted to accommodate the new production environment. e.g. changes in acoustics, PA, mics etc.
When Notre Dame de Paris finishes in Korea, Arts In Motion Co, Ltd, (who own the copyright to the show for Asia) have scheduled to take it to Taiwan.
