Stage Technologies Success in Japan
Kikuta Kazuko (1908-1973) was arguably the greatest popular playwright of Japan. He also directed and produced numerous shows and left an invaluable legacy for all working in Japanese theatre. The awards were set up in his memory 30 years ago to recognise great works of authors, directors, choreographers, actors, stage designers, engineers, technicians and all other stage staff for their contribution towards the Japanese theatre.
Stage Technologies supplied the touring production of Miss Saigon with automation equipment on a rental basis and technical support throughout the fit up and the tour. The show used nearly 50-axes of automation to control scene changes, stage trucks, blinds and the life-size flying helicopter. Controlled from an Acrobat control desk this production required eight BigTow winches and 19 MiniTow winches, and used MaxisMX control system.
