Lighthouse Reports Growing Demand for LED Digital Signage
Lighthouse Technologies, a leading manufacturer and global supplier of state-of-the-art light emitting diode (LED) modular video panels, has reported growing interest in its family of LED screens for digital signage, recognized as one of the fasted growing segments of the LED marketplace.
To address the unique demands of the digital signage applications, Lighthouse continues to launch new LED visual display products, including the P-12ER, P10 and R10, as well as the industry’s first portable, self-contained LED screen, the PopVision, debuting at InfoComm in Las Vegas.
The new PopVision screen, as well as Lighthouse’s 10mm P10 and R10, and 6mm R6 panels, are being showcased at Booth # 7701 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Based on its proprietary M4 uniformity control technology, Lighthouse 6mm screens deliver high definition images and extra processing power. The result is extra crystal clear images in very low brightness, producing strikingly high resolution to captivate audiences for spectacular close viewing capabilities.
According to iSupply, a leading analyst firm covering the video display industry, LED video technology has become the preference for indoor and outdoor venues due to its affordability, brightness, durability and scalability. The worldwide market of LED video displays, valued at $639 million in 2004, is expected to rise to $755 million in 2010. iSupply also projects the retail-signage market, which occupies the largest share of LED text, graphics and animation displays, is expected to grow from 41,248 sq. meters in 2005 to 69,832 sq. meters in 2010.
"LED is hitting its stride, and Lighthouse has seen strong gains across the board -- in total sales, size of installations and product development,” said Tony Turiello, vice president sales, marketing and operations in the Americas for Lighthouse. "At the same time, we’ve undertaken initiatives to ensure we remain on the forefront of this LED revolution, including product innovation that is shaping the direction of our industry.”
The latest development from Lighthouse is the PopVision, the industry’s first portable, self-contained high brightness LED video screen. The screen is easily transported in a 5’ x 2’ flight case featuring a wireless remote and hydraulic system that allows the screen to “pop up” for fast, simple set-up. With its 6mm dot pitch, the PopVision is ideal for events requiring sharp visual displays, as well as mobility for challenging staging and event applications.
Other recent Lighthouse LED screen products include a new generation of pixel mapping image, no noise, super-quiet 10mm P10 and R10 panels. These noiseless 10mm panels suit extremely well for concert venues, conferences, studios and broadcast events where noise levels must be kept to a minimum. The company has also seen its products used in a number of high visibility LED screen installations, including the San Diego Padres PETCO Park and on the set of the Queen’s “We Will Rock You” show. The “We Will Rock You” projection required 120 Lighthouse LED panels, each measuring 8.40 feet wide and 7.87 feet high. Lighthouse screens have been used in several national tours and concerts for artists like Sting, Metallica and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Currently, Lighthouse is undertaking a number of internal initiatives to further strengthen operations. The company is developing several strategic partnerships to support a wide range of new emerging digital signage applications. Earlier this year, Lighthouse added Turiello to its executive management team. A highly-regarded industry veteran with more than 20 years experience, Turiello has directed marketing, sales, service and operations for Sony and other companies in the large screen display arena.
