Montblanc Celebrates 100th Anniversary with L-Acoustics Sound System
This year, Mont Blanc celebrated its 100th anniversary. 1,500 international guests were invited to a star studded evening at Shanghai Film Park Studios in the Songjiang district of China – the main venue for Montblanc’s 100th Anniversary Gala Party.
Approximately 3000 special guests attended the event which featured a replica of the summit of the Mont Blanc. Managing directors Lutz Bethge and Wolff Heinrichsdorff created the mood for a grand party with musical appearances by baritone Thomas Hampson, mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, the violin virtuoso József Lendvay and Italian singer Lucio Dalla who enchanted the guests. For an unforgettable evening these performances benefited from an L-Acoustics sound system provided by Lab Shanghai. A combination of Kudo and dV-DOSC arrays were used for the FOH system, complemented by SB218 subwoofers and dV-SUBs. In addition 115FM stage monitors were used as front fills and 115XT HiQs were utilized for the VIP Section.
Show designers Kenny and Don from Lab Shanghai were in charge of designing the system: "We needed to hide the speaker cabinets on the ceiling while ensuring sound quality and complete coverage of the audience. Consequently we used a configuration using hung dV-DOSC as stage monitors and left and right Kudo arrays allowed to minimize the wall reflection and made a warm atmosphere in this huge studio. The SoundVision software was essential in avoiding site lines issues while maintaining the appropriate sound pressure level to allow conversations and exchanges between the guests. The result was clean and warm. This is one of the main advantages of line source array technology!”
