WYSIWYG is Even Better with Release 18
Cast Software has released a special advanced copy of R18 - a release so great, Cast say it could be considered the next generation of WYSIWYG. Initial feedback has been extremely positive with rave reviews from some of the industry’s most eminent lighting professionals. Officially registered WYSIWYG users have been given the opportunity to purchase and upgrade to the new Release and it is about to be made available to the industry in general.
After months of development and testing with industry leaders, WYSIWYG R18 is Cast’s most advanced and comprehensive Release to date. “We felt it was our responsibility to create a Release that surpassed our users expectations. The feedback we received suggested that faster performance and the ability to queue multiple render jobs were high priority. We decided to focus on building a stronger and more efficient Render Engine that would provide quick results and even more powerful lighting effects,” says Josh Koffman, VP of product development.
R18’s revolutionary new features include: a stronger, more reliable render engine delivering faster results and better lighting effects; a Background Rendering Manager allowing Users to queue multiple jobs and pause and resume rendering; many new multifaceted wizards and tools for the creation of LED walls, video curtains, and starcloth; new fixture tools for hanging and distributing multiple fixtures; and a grid array tool for arraying any object in a grid pattern.
WYSIWYG was used for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, and the Paralympics to follow. Recent shows that took advantage of WYSIWYG are the Lord of the Rings and Cirque de Soleil’s show Delirium, as well as the team behind Spiderman 3.
Cast Software continues to work with multiple motion control system manufacturers to allow them to connect directly to WYSIWYG and visualize their motion controls. These exciting new advancements complement CAST’s mission to deliver software tools that give users the ability to Show and Sell.
Early this week, all users can download WYSIWYG R18 from the Cast website.
