City Theatrical Releases New Battery Operated Wireless Power/Data Supply for Color Kinetics Products
CTI’s president Gary Fails said: “We feel that this is the leading edge of entertainment lighting. There is no doubt that LEDs will change the way we light our world, and City Theatrical is active in the effort to invent new ways to power and control them. The low power consumption of LEDs allows battery power to be possible in large scale moving entertainment installations for the first time and our WDS system provides reliable control without wires.”
The first installation of the PDS-375 TRB is in the upcoming production of ‘Phantom of the Opera’ in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. In one of the world’s largest installations of wireless data and wireless dimming, full stages of scenery are lighted and move without being impeded by electrical wires.
