Aztec on tour in Japan
Sound reinforcement experts SEPT, a company well known in Japan for an expertise in sound engineering, have recently chosen Audient’s Aztec for the concert tour of one of top Japanese artists Kazumasa Oda. Originally the Aztec was introduced on a trial basis, however the console was quickly accepted as the main desk for the entire tour.
“Aztec makes it easier to produce a great sound; the EQ in particular has a very musical property to it,” says Mr Shiro Kimura, well-known engineer and owner of SEPT, who took the decision to use Aztec. “I understand the designer of the desk was once a recording engineer. This certainly makes sense, as the desk has such an intuitive layout.”
Situated in Tokyo, SEPT have worked with many famous Japanese artists including Takuro Yoshida, CHAR, Misato Watanabe and more. This year SEPT has also invested in Audient’s ASP008 microphone preamp as well as a second Aztec further augmenting their stock.
“One of the greatest advantages of the Audient desk is the fact that it is so light,” Kimura continues. “Worthy of special mention as well is Aztec’s traditional British sound. It really is so clear and clean.”
The folk and pop singer/songwriter Kazumasa Oda toured 40 cities in Japan on his recent tour including Nihon Budoukan in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
SEPT work closely with Japanese Audient distributor, MTC who introduced them to the Aztec console and ASP008.
