Education Aided by Turbosound
Turbosound distributor Stage Craft International has recently been very busy designing and installing audio systems in educational establishments throughout the Philippines. With power, clarity, versatility and budget all key requirements, Turbosound was the natural choice.
A HiLight system has been installed in the newly renovated Marian Theatre at Miriam College, Quezon City. The theatre is used for assemblies and school productions and the system comprises two main left/right flown clusters of two THL-811 mid-highs and two THL-118 subs, each arranged in a T configuration. A TQ-310 is used for centre fill, with six TXD-15M wedges for stage monitoring.
In Mandaluyong City, the Saint Joseph’s Theatre at La Salle Green Hills - a catholic boys school - has also been the subject of a recent renovation. As with the Marian Theatre, its principal purpose is assemblies and school productions, but due to the architecture, here Stage Craft had to take a slightly different approach.
A flown centre cluster is used to cover the entire auditorium, comprising three THL-2, three-way bi-amped speakers and two THL-118 subs. Four TXD-12M wedges were installed for monitoring.
A brand new building is De La Salle University’s Brother Andrew Gonzalez Auditorium, a general education building used for a wide range of purposes including lectures, seminars and productions.
A system was required which would give excellent coverage, but was also ultra-compact and portable. Stage Craft therefore supplied a pair of QLight™ TQ-315DP, two-way, self-powered loudspeakers, plus a pair of Impact 50s for stage monitoring.
“Each of these establishments had very individual requirements, but Turbosound has the products which allowed us to design and install the ideal system for each one,” says Stage Craft’s Leslie Zabala. “There is also inevitably a reasonably tight budget on this kind of job, but the Turbosound speakers allowed us to deliver versatile systems with excellent clarity and power - and all within budget.
“All of the clients are very happy with the power and coverage of their Turbosound equipment.”
