Lighthouse Screen Entertains at Olympian Cty 2

Totalling 800,000 square feet of retail space, Olympian City is hailed as one of Hong Kong’s most innovative shopping and entertainment complexes. Situated in West Kowloon, it benefits not only from a host of themes and features unique to Hong Kong, but also the stunning harbour view from the Island. In a place so immersed in its host city’s culture, it seems fitting that the large format display chosen for the complex is also from a Hong Kong-based company, Lighthouse Technologies Limited.
The 8 panels x 8 panels (5.12m wide x 3.84m high) Lighthouse P10 10mm LED screen, which is controlled by a Lighthouse LIP-DX, X-Drive Pro processor, was installed in Olympian City 2 at the end of March this year. It is situated adjacent to the MTR’s Olympic station on the Upper Ground level of the complex and has been integrated into the building’s construction.
The screen operates daily from 10am until 10pm and shows a mixture of store and mall promotions and live events; with content supplied by technology solutions company Teclink, also based in Hong Kong.
Sino Estates Management Ltd., which operates Olympian City, made the decision to go with the Lighthouse P10 screen based on its observation of the excellent quality of the same product installed at another mall, the Hollywood Plaza in Diamond Hill.
“The picture quality of the screen is very satisfactory,” says Andy Chan, assistant maintenance manager for Sino. “As the screen is newly installed, we are still assessing just how much benefit it will bring to Olympian City, but so far we have found it very good for promotional events held in the central atrium.”
“The competition was stiff, but the P10 was chosen among a significant number of rival products,” says Lighthouse’s managing director, Mark Chan. “It is gratifying to see that Lighthouse screen is again proven to be the best solution for retail environment in terms of quality, durability and return-on-investment.”
