Show Technology Become Robert Juliat Exclusive Distributors for Australia
Robert Juliat has announced the recent appointment of Show Technology Australia Pty Ltd as its new exclusive distributor, responsible for promoting and distributing Robert Juliat products throughout Australia.
Show Technology marked the occasion by holding Robert Juliat showcase events at their Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane offices. Special guest was Lionel Garraud, Robert Juliat’s international sales director, who turned on the Gallic charm, impressing everyone with his knowledge and commitment to the Robert Juliat ethos.
Products on display included the Cyrano followspot, the Quincy architectural profile, the Lutin fresnel and the award-winning Super Korrigan followspot (2006 Live Design International Products of the Year).
Show Technology’s managing director Emmanuel Ziino was present at all showcases and took great delight in introducing such a quality range of products to his clientele.
"The market has shown a great acceptance for Robert Juliat and there is pent up demand for the product,” he commented. "We have committed to building up stock and consequently will have showroom stock in all of our branches very soon plus we look forward to announcing some exciting new deals in the near future.”
Response from those attending was extremely positive. “I like the build quality and the finish of Robert Juliat products,” said Phil Dunesky, technical operations manager of stage lighting at the Sydney Opera House. “It’s extremely well constructed and the optics are really good. I’m just very impressed with the build quality, especially the followspots, and they’re a very well respected brand specified by a lot of the international acts that come through the Opera House and we’re happy to use the product because of its acceptance in the business.”
Phil Dunesky was not the only representative from a leading Australian arts venue that was impressed by the Robert Juliat products. “Having been familiar with the Robert Juliat range during my career at London’s Royal Opera House, I was pleased to see the RJs had finally ‘landed’ in Australia,” said David Harvey, lighting operations manager at the Victoria Arts Centre. “I look forward to putting both the tungsten and discharge units through their paces alongside the competition, as we head towards a programme of redevelopment and upgrades within the Arts Centres’ venues.”
Whilst most people acknowledge that Robert Juliat produce some of the best followspots in the world, Leko Novakovic, managing director of Adelaide-based Novatech Productions, was so amazed by the 2.5k Fresnels he bought eight on the spot!
“I loved the whole range!” he said enthusiastically. “Robert Juliat has always been known for its quality but has never been well supported in this country. Their followspots are the dream followspots of any show. I had never seen the entire range before; the build quality of the Fresnels and profiles was just awesome! My Fresnels arrive tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to using them.
Lionel Garraud was impressed by the enthusiasm of the people who attended the showcases.
“On behalf all Robert Juliat, I wish to thank all the people who attended our showcases in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well as the Show Technology Staff who made these events a real success,” said Lionel Garraud. “I was highly delighted to note the keen interest by the lighting professionals for our range of single lens luminaires and tungsten profile spots, as these are not yet as well known as our very popular range of followspots in this part of the world. I have absolutely no doubt that, thanks to the utmost professionalism of Show Technology's team, Robert Juliat will dramatically expand within the Australian market.”
