Major Spotlight Successes in China

After the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where they provided the lighting for the Olympic Fencing Hall of National Conference Centre, Spotlight of Milan is now present in the most important cultural centres in China: the Guanzhou Opera House, the Chongqing Grand Theater and the Concert Hall in Shenzhen.
For Spotlight in China, as well as in around 100 countries where there are exclusive distributors, means not only fixtures but also training, and in November they had two important seminars on Lighting Design and Lighting Technology, thanks to the cooperation of important local partners.

Together with some senior Chinese stage lighting designers such as Professor Liang Hongzhou - the two seminars were organised by Shanghai-based LasLead Technology. The hosts were two important cultural venues in Beijing: the Dance Academy and the Tianqiao Theatre.

On the equipment supply front, over 350 Spotlight fixturesa are in use at the Guangzhou Opera House on the Pearl River. Designed for the 2010 Asia Games, this big cultural project covers an area of 46,000 square metres. It has 1,800 seats and a multifunctional digital hall with an area of 2,500 square metres. The Spotlight fixtures provided to light this Opera House include floodlights, high power PCs and Fresnels from the Evolution and Sintesi ranges.

Located in Southwest China, in the Chinese municipality with the biggest population, the Chongqing Grand Theatre is home to a 1850-capacity (Grand) and a 930-capacity (Medium) theatre in a total area of about 80,000 squares metres. As a theatre consisting of music halls and opera houses, the Chongqing Grand Theatre is an expressive sculpture, characterized by wide glass plates and represents a ship floating on an ocean of light. Over 450 Italian manufactured Spotlight fixtures have been provided:.PC and Fresnel spotlights and also Domino and Ribaltina floodlights.

Customisation of optics and finishing were amongst the reasons why 100 Spotlight fixtures were chosen for the Shenzhen Concert Hall. This multifunctional cultural centre consists of an auditorium hall with 1800 seats, a small theatre and other facilities such as a digital recording studio, four VIP Lounges, 18 piano rooms (a 150-year-old piano from Austria and dozens of the best pianos in the world) and 20 five-star artist apartments.
