RSC Lightlock Wins Live Design Award at LDI
With great weather and fantastic attendees, this year's LDI show was the ideal backdrop to present the RSC Lightlock to the North American market. The motion damping device lived up to the preshow buzz, showing visitors there is a way to use moving lights in situations where traditional rigging may not work. This innovative product became the talk of the show, with many attendees bringing friends to the Total Structures booth just to make sure they saw the demonstration for themselves. The RSC Lightlock now gives designers the ability to dampen the natural tendency for moving lights to twist in reaction to the fixture's pan movement, allowing the light to hit the focus point without swinging back and forth.
Live Design saw the potential of this new technology as well, awarding the RSC Lightlock the Best Debuting Product Award in the Rigging and Staging category. The award, presented during Saturday evening's festivities on the show floor, recognizes the RSC Lightlock for increasing the range of uses for moving head lighting fixtures, while reducing the amount of rigging equipment needed to place fixtures within facilities and productions.
For the team at Total Structures, the response from attendees reinforced what they already believed. "When people come back three or four times to ask more questions about how to apply the technology, you have to believe that you are on the right track," said Adrian Forbes-Black, vice-president of Total Structures. "We have been fortunate to have some of the industry's leading designers, as well as representatives from leading production houses and consulting firms, inquiring about uses for the RSC Lightlock, and asking how soon they can have units in hand." Potential customers were excited to learn that units are available immediately from our production lines in California and the UK.
