iLive-T Debuts in Singapore

The first iLive-T digital mixing system off the production line has been purchased by Singapore AV company, the Production People. The company debuted the system, comprising an iDR-48 MixRack and iLive-T112 Control Surface, at the Kids Horizon Appeal Gala event held at the Ritz Carlton Millenia hotel in Singapore.

The charity dinner, held annually to raise funds for children suffering from cancer and HIV, was attended by many distinguished local guests. The highlight of the evening was a performance by Singapore's premier large-scale jazz ensemble, the 16-piece Thomson Big Band. iLive-T managed audio requirements for the evening, which included the band and several speeches by presenters and guests.

The Production People's Sheldon Gooi was very pleased with his recent purchase and impressed by how easy the system is to set up with just one CAT5 cable in place of their traditional bulky analogue multicore snake. "The iLive-T surface is not only a beauty to look at with its colour naming strips but also performed extremely well."

Although he had lots of experience using other digital boards, this was the first time that Eddie, the sound engineer for the evening, had mixed on iLive:

"iLive-T is very effective, with all the gate, PEQ, GEQ, compressor, limiter, delay and FX processing onboard and easy to use. The sound coming from the mixer is so good, very little EQ'ing was needed," he commented. "iLive-T is a warm-sounding mixer, just like an analogue board, and it is similar in performance to those much more expensive digital consoles."
