Lighting Innovation with Hermann Sorger at PLASA

Lighting Innovation will again be presenting its latest products at this year's PLASA. Show. They will be sharing stand C4 with Lightstorm and Amptown where Hermann and Brigitta Sorger will demonstrate Lighting Innovation's latest products and advise customers.

This year's show will mark a special occasion for Hermann Sorger - this year marks his 50th in the lighting industry. After a period as an apprentice at PANI, he started working for the famous Vienna-based company as product designer and salesman in 1959. He had the fortune to work with many famous stage designers such as Annelies Corrodi in Switzerland, Josef Svoboda in the Czech Republic, Günther Schneider-Siemssen, head stage designer from the Wiener Staatsoper, and Herbert von Karajan at the Festspiele Salzburg.

Travels also took him to some of the greatest opera houses including the San Francisco Opera, Miami Opera, Opera Berlin and Munich and many others around the world. It was a joy for him to design special effects projections.

Setting up Lighting Innovation in Vienna 1997 with his wife, Brigitta and son, Harald was a great challenge, and now they are busy and happy designing and supplying their ‘Inno' products all over the word.

At PLASA in 1994, Hermann Sorger received an award for Distinguished Service to the Industry, where Steve Terry mentioned in his address Hermann's ‘special, infectious enthusiasm for new products, technical achievement and great art'.
