ESTA Foundation to Launch New Programme
The ESTA Foundation is inviting all ETS-LDI participants to the unveiling of a Harley-Davidson Sportster XL 883 that will be raffled off at the end of the show. At the same time, the Foundation will formally announce Behind the Scenes, a major new initiative for the entertainment technology industry. Proceeds from the raffle will support Behind the Scenes.
The motorcycle will be unveiled on Friday, 11th November, 2005, at 10:15 a.m., immediately after the opening of the ETS-LDI trade show. It will take place in booth 952 on the ETS-LDI trade show floor in the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
Behind the Scenes will provide financial support to entertainment technology professionals when they are seriously ill or injured. The Foundation is raising money for the program from those in the industry — so together, we can take care of our own. The raffle is one element of the fund raising. First prize is the Harley. Second prize is a theatre trip to New York. Tickets will be $50 each or $200 for five. A maximum of 1,500 tickets will be available.
Also to be announced at the launch and reveal of the Harley: The Altman Family Challenge Grant. The Altman Family will match all pledges and funds raised for Behind the Scenes in the first year — dollar for dollar — up to $125,000. That means every dollar contributed to the program will be doubled.
In addition, the event will include some of the industry’s favorite bikers, all of whom are members of the Long Reach Long Riders (LRLR). The LRLR stage an annual cross-country motorcycle ride for charity, and in 2006 they will ride for Behind the Scenes.
Raffle ticket sales will begin in booth 952 immediately following the event and will continue throughout the show until the raffle, which will be held Sunday, November 13, at 3 p.m. in booth 952. Individuals and companies also can make contributions at booth 952 during the show or online at any time at www.estafoundation.org. All contributions are tax deductible.
