ICIA/INFOCOMM Joins Entech 2006

The International Communications Industries Association, Inc., the premier trade association for the audiovisual industry worldwide, has announced its participation at Entech 2006.

ICIA/InfoComm will offer a one-day program consisting of four 90-minute seminars featuring AV design, display, signal management and presentation support for end users. The seminars are being presented by InfoComm Academy’s instructors at Entech, which is being held from February 13-15, 2006 at the Sydney Exhibition & Convention Centre, Darling Harbour.

A breakfast meeting of the newly created ICIA Australia and New Zealand Member Council will precede the seminars. In addition, ICIA will host a booth on the exhibition floor. More details about ICIA’s offerings at Entech is available from Jonathan Seller, ICIA’s Australia/New Zealand Representative at jseller@infocomm.org.

"ICIA is delighted to participate at Entech next year,” said Terry Friesenborg, CTS, Senior Vice President for International Development of ICIA. “Demand has dramatically increased for audiovisual training as well as certification of individuals and companies around the world, reflecting the pervasiveness of AV presentations and communications technology everywhere, especially in business, government and education. Entech has provided us a great platform to offer our education in Australia.”

The AV industry is experiencing phenomenal growth as demand for information communications technology expands in every field. With applications spanning videoconferencing, presentations and lectures, training, command and control, entertainment, distance learning, electronic retail signage, and high-end home theatre, customers are seeking qualified AV technicians, designers and installers.

With almost 28,000 enrolments since 1997, ICIA's audiovisual education and certification programs are the AV industry's leading professional development resource. InfoComm Academy offers an extensive range of AV courses designed by experts and taught by renowned AV professionals from the entire spectrum of technical, sales, management and professional disciplines.

Courses are taken online, at the Fairfax, Virginia headquarters, as well as around the world, and at ICIA’s flagship tradeshow, InfoComm, each year. On any given day there are over 2,900 students enrolled in ICIA training and certification.
