Stage Technologies in Australia
As Kylie’s Greatest Hits Tour ‘Show Girl’ moves from Sydney to London this month, a new attraction has opened in Australia. ‘Walking With Dinosaurs – The Live Experience’ opened on the 10th January at Sydney’s Acer Arena.
Stage Technologies have supplied nine BigTow winches to automate a flying dinosaur with a 12 metre wing-span. The Ornithocheirus is flown in front of stunning aerial footage to create the impression of flying through the air along the Australian coastline. Fifteen incredible life-size dinosaurs have been created in total, inspired from the award-winning BBC television series of the same name. The show is set to tour Australia and has long term plans for a world-wide tour.
Kylie’s ‘Show Girl’ tour reopened at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in November following an 18 month break. The show has now left Australia and is touring the UK following its opening on New Years Eve at Wembley Arena. During the show Kylie sits upon a large crescent moon which flies downstage, automated from an Illusionist control console using three BigTow winches.
