Turbosound Chosen for Queensland Multi-Million Dollar Nightclub
Located on trendy Flinders Street in Townsville, Queensland, Consortium is a nightclub that has taken two years of meticulous planning to come to fruition. But, with crystal chandeliers, French-style lounges, laced curtains, plasma screens, aluminium bars and a full on Turbosound loudspeaker system, it has certainly been worth the wait.
Rod Barr and Simone Strushko from Brand & Slater Architects were the team behind the impressive design of this new multi-million dollar, multi-level bar, with JVG Sound, Lighting and Visual installing the AV system which includes over 50 Turbosound loudspeakers and more than 40,000w of Lab.gruppen amplification.
The dance floor system is based around four Turbosound TQ-315s (15”/1.5”) and two TSW-218 dual 18” subwoofers. The bar areas are covered with over 30 Turbosound TCS-081C compact (8”/1”) cabinets, TSB-212 dual 12” bandpass subwoofers, along with TCS-101C (10”/1”) cabinets for DJ monitors. The system also includes a quantity of IP54 rated TCS-081CWs for the outdoor area.
“We use Turbosound and Lab.gruppen wherever possible as we know it sounds great,” says JVG’s Jade Golar. “It looks the part, is reliable and our clients and, just as importantly, their customers appreciate the quality.”
