SIEL 2007: very high quality results!

For its 25th anniversary, SIEL concentrated on its core target: professionals in live entertainment, events and nightlife establishments. Thanks to its targeted communication plan and the setting up of specific tools such as the Decision-Makers programme which puts the spotlight on the market’s most influential players, SIEL welcomed 27,425 visitors. The international communication campaign proved a success, leading to a net increase of 10.3% in foreign visitors compared to 2006, raising to 6% the overall proportion of foreign professionals attending.

SIEL 2007 once again showcased numerous new products in professional audio, lighting, stage equipment (at the entrance to the show two impressive stages featured concerts and demonstrations), as well as in video. Many exhibitors gave a prominent place to video technology, which is playing an increasing role in the live entertainment and events sectors: high-power LED walls and plasma screens, including the world’s largest plasma screen.

At SIEL Live Entertainment, the outstanding conference on hearing risks was packed out, proof that professionals are really concerned by this problem and are seeking solutions to protect both themselves and the public. The debate organised on the setting up of the Eco-tax decree reviewed all its possible applications in this business sector.

At SIEL Night, the European DJ Meeting, the leading platform for meetings between professionals in this sector, was a big hit for the second consecutive year. Set up as part of the European DJ Meeting, the VJing section, bringing together all the equipment for live image mixing and featuring live demonstrations, was a clear success.

Top celebrities at this year’s SIEL included Bob Sinclar who came to collect his Gold Disc, Doc Gyneco, Clara Morgane, who presented her first single at the show, Jean Roch and David Vendetta who came along to answer questions for FG DJ Radio. Many DJs turned up for mixing sessions, including Ariel Wizman, Michael Canitrot, Greg Cerrone, DJ Abdel, Cutkiller, RLP, Crazy B, Dee Nasty, and Paco.

Another success at SIEL Night was the conference on "DJs and Communication" brought together over 300 participants. Among the speakers, Bob Sinclar and Greg Cerrone explained their views on successful communication and demonstrated the genuine added value that can be contributed by a DJ that really knows how to make a name for himself.

The 5th RADIO! tradeshow held as part of SIEL attracted 3,152 visitors (compared to 2,903 in 2006), an 8.5% increase. Numerous visitors to RADIO! showed a keen interest in SIEL Live Entertainment, as the broadcasting solutions offered at the two trade shows were very complementary.

More than ever before dedicated to professionals, SIEL has once more shown its ability to innovate by proposing quality solutions and thus meeting the requirements of its exhibitors and visitors!
