Klotz Digital Launch New Varizone VAB-Line at Pro Light + Sound
office buildings, department stores and other commercial applications of the same size, making Varizone even more installation- and user-friendly than ever. Also, Klotz is able to provide all the attractive advantages of digital public address systems to small facilities at a similar price to analogue 100V systems.
VAB1 is the core of a new all-in-one Varizone solution and the main component of the new simplified plug and play Varuizone version. It handles up to 51 inputs and 32 outputs, providing the opportunity to play-out 32 different channels to an unlimited number of zones simultaneously. DSP signal processing to enhance speech comprehensibility and complete system control are included. Although VAB-Line is a simple plug-and-play solution for paging, voice evacuation and foreground/background music purposes it provides all the features a modern multi-function system has to fulfil. Established Varizone components, such as Line Manager and Ambience Noise Module (ANS), are compatible with the new control engine.
Different expansion boards are available to expand the VAB1 based Varizone solution or customize it quickly to individual project requirements. Expansion boards exist for an EVAC solution and for a PA solution to connect up to 32 paging stations to the system. Together with the EVAC expansion board the VAB-Line is in accordance with DIN EN 60849 and fulfils the most modern safety standards. It provides all-important safety features such as solid system monitoring, prioritised evacuation announcements, a push-to-talk handheld microphone,
monitoring of the speaker lines down to each single speaker, manifold control devices, onboard music/paging, flash memory, and a clearly arranged front panel display. In addition, VAB1 can be expanded with additional DSS Bus-cards.
Worldwide Varizone claims to be the only PA solution unifying paging, background music and voice evacuation in the same application, even as the simple plug and play VAB-Line. Another main component of the VAB-Line is the integrated programmable amplifier module (I-PAM), an essential component of Klotz Digital’s Digital Speaker System (DSS). The I-PAM is fed by the DSS bus with power, as well as eight different audio signals and bi-directional control data in real time, while the amplifier module actively selects two audio signals from the pool of signals. The selected signals can be assigned to the I-PAM via software and broadcasted via the connected speakers. A total of two speakers can be connected to one I-PAM. The I-PAM provides a built-in equalizer, volume control for the processing of the selected audio signal and individual monitoring of the connected speaker. To change the selected signals and its volume easily a Volume Control module can be connected directly to the I-PAM. Previously the PAM was designed for ceiling or wall mount. The new I-PAM is barely the size of a matchbox and therefore installed directly at the speaker, for example in the enclosure, offering drastic equipment and cost-saving benefits.
