PR Lighting Prepare for PLASA

PR Lighting has announced the release of the new XL1500 moving head. This highly versatile projector utilises a powerful 1500W short art discharge lamp - a power source optimised by the use of a high quality and efficient optical system; this has resulted in one of the brightest projectors in the market. Major features include: large-scale linear zoom; CYM colour mixing; two rotating gobo wheels plus one fixed gobo wheel; colour temperature correction from 0-100%; bi-directionally rotating, indexable prisms; linearly-adjustable frost, focus and dimmer, iris - and much more. The XL1500 also features ultra-quiet and smooth operation, with advanced control technology, an energy-saving design, LCD menu, sensor system for fault diagnosis, display set-up without main power, isolating protection when ground is not connected, modularised construction and choice of magnetic or electronic ballast.

Two new automated fixtures, previewed by PR Lighting at the recent Pro Light+Sound Show in Frankfurt, are now available through distributors. With the XL250 the company has managed to pack a full range of features into a restyled chassis. Available in two versions (with Magnetic or Electronic ballast), the XL250 combines a 250W lamp - and all the features of the established XL series - with a highly-efficient optical system, making the fixture sufficiently bright for any small-to-medium sized venue as well as theatre and television studios. Highlights of the XL250 are the interchangeable colour gobos, 15°-23° linear zoom, LCD display and an energy-saving design for both the electronic (XL250) and magnetic ballast (XL250M) versions. Features also include: colour wheel with 12 dichroic colour filters (plus white), with variable speeds, bi-directional rainbow effect, stepper/linear colour-changer; interchangeable colour filters; colour temperature correction filter; rotating gobo wheel with seven interchangeable glass gobos (plus white), indexable, rotating and scrolling bi-directionally and oscillating at various speeds; fixed gobo wheel with ten interchangeable metal gobos (plus white), scrolling bi-directionally and oscillating at various speeds; linearly-adjustable iris; three-faceted prism, bi-directionally rotating at variable speeds; frost filter; DMX-controlled focus; dimmer (linearly-adjustable 0%-100%); double strobe/shutter blades; 540° (pan) and 270° tilt - with adjustable speed and automatic positioning correction. The XL250 also contains an energy-saving design, reducing lamp consumption to half power at shutter closing status or via control channel, as well as sensor fault diagnostic system and automatic fan speed control. Its modular construction is designed to facilitate easy servicing.

Mega Colour 2500's combination of moving head and outdoor colour wash facilities enable this versatile fixture to illuminate any show - indoor or out. With IP44 weather resistance, it can safely be operated in all conditions. The principal features of the Mega Colour 2500 include: split design (of head and power chassis); patented reflector for superior brightness; linear CYM colour mixing system, providing a vast colour palette; easy operation, with standard, programmable DMX 512 control, master/slave mode or stand-alone mode. Contained in a high-strength aluminium alloy chassis, with ABS and composite plastics, is a Philips MSA 2500 DE lamp (with 5600°K colour temperature). The head offers movement of 400° (pan) and 160° (tilt) - with adjustable speed and automatic pan/tilt position correction - and a beam angle of 60° x 45°. Other functions include fixture and lamp usage time display, adjustable brightness and contrast of LCD display and overheating protection device.
