Sennheiser Presents evolution Wireless G3

Sennheiser has launched G3, the third generation of its highly successful wireless series. For G3, Sennheiser has introduced a range of exciting extras to offer up-and-coming bands, established performers, presenters, musicians, reporting teams and PA companies outstanding quality at attractive evolution prices.
Sennheiser launched G3 at ProLight+Sound in Frankfurt, presenting the new 100, 300 and 500 G3 series, as well as the new 300 IEM G3 wireless monitoring system and ENG sets for reporters and filmmakers. No matter which series the user chooses, the complete systems guarantee fast and uncomplicated set-up and ensure that users can "go on air" without a hitch: the transmitters can be synchronised with the receivers via an infrared interface, the frequency management function makes more compatible frequencies avail-able and all third-generation series now have a switching bandwidth of 42 MHz.
"As a result, we have an optimum combination of more switchable frequencies - up to 1,680 for the new generation - and a high selectivity," explains Martin Fischer, product manager Music Industry Wireless at Sennheiser. evolution wireless is the perfect partner for the stage, presentations and reporting. "Reliable, absolutely professional systems that make virtually everything possible - that's how I'd describe the new generation," said Martin Fischer. "The evolution wireless G3 systems offer the widest range of performance features in their class."
Users can depend on reliable technology in a rugged metal housing - and enjoy even better evolution sound. The system's audio range now extends down as far as 25 Hz, which will put a smile on the face of every bass guitarist.
All series now feature a Soundcheck Mode, which was previously reserved for the 500 Series. Sennheiser has added even more refinements to this mode. The Soundcheck Mode can now be operated even during the show: the audio level and field strength level are continuously measured, with the receiver recording the maximum values for AF and the minimum values for RF. The highly popular equalizer from the 500 Series is now fitted to all series, allowing trebles to be raised and bass frequencies lowered to suit individual voices and applications.
The operating menu is now even more user-friendly: the separation into a "User Level" and an "Advanced Level" means that the most important functions can be accessed more quickly. While the User Level contains the functions for the sound engineer's everyday work, such as the selection of the frequency presets and the audio level, the Advanced Level is reserved for more specialised programming that is not performed every day, such as direct frequency selection, reset to factory settings and - for the 300 and 500 Series - synchronisation and warning settings.
All portable transmitters and receivers can be powered not only by standard batteries but also by special Sennheiser rechargeable battery packs. For this, the portable devices (with the exception of the plug-on transmitter) are fitted with external charging contacts. "Using rechargeable battery packs has never been more convenient. In addition to being environmentally friendly, this solution also cuts running costs," Fischer added. The battery charge status is securely displayed in four steps.
For convenient PC control, the 300 and 500 Series have now been fitted with an Ethernet interface. Via a standard Ethernet switch, the rack-mount devices can be directly connected to a PC with Sennheiser's "Wireless Systems Manager" software. This professional software makes monitoring and data management much easier to handle - a valuable asset especially in multi-channel applications. In order to further improve multi-channel capability, the standard output power in both series can be reduced from 30 mW to 10 mW, making it possible to accommodate even more channels in a given frequency range.
The 500 Series also has the highest quality acoustics: the handheld transmitters are equipped with capsules from the evolution 900 stage series, while the clip-on microphone is the legendary MKE 2-Gold.
