GLP Paint their Masterpiece

GLP's new Meisterstück (translated ‘masterpiece') has been designed to meet lighting designers' continuous quest for better quality lighting beams with an uncompromising attitude to colour.
GLP have met the challenge head on with their latest impression LED head. This 600W LED (RGBW) moving light dispenses with multiple LED units in favour of a Fresnel lens, making it the perfect solution for the TV and theatre market.
Meisterstück is thus able to deliver a single uniform beam with no split colour shadows which are endemic to multiple source LED's. This was one of the biggest obstacles overcome by the GLP design team, enabling the fixture to produce just a single, evenly-mixed colour at a time - with no visible diodes, no pixels and no split-colour shadows.
Director Mark Ravenhill explains: "GLP want to get to the core of what customers actually need. We are trying to exploit all the advantages of LED without compromising whatsoever on artistic integrity."
"This is the first time we have developed a luminaire in response to such a strict set of requirements from lighting designers," added head of R&D, Markus Salm. "We are really proud of Meisterstück, and in keeping with the impression's unique design template, have managed to make it baseless."
Other important features of Meisterstück include: Excellent white light quality, with variable colour temperature; Variable zoom (7°-28°); All the benefits of LED (long-life, high-efficiency, low power/weight); No bulky base; Lower maintenance.
The Meisterstück begins shipping this summer
