GLP Volkslicht Blasts into Mass Market
GLP have introduced the Volkslicht - a small LED moving head armed with 60 Luxeon Rebel RGB LEDs - at a lower price point than their popular impression heads. However, the basic colours used are identical to those of the impression 90 and the impression XL, which makes it possible to combine the devices without any risk of colour variation.
The power consumption of Volkslicht is a mere 180 watts and in addition to the RGB model GLP have also produced a white model (with 42 cold white LED's and 18 warm LED's, allowing a continuously adjustable colour temperature. Volkslicht also features an exchangeable optical carrier with 11° distribution angle (24° optional beam path), while the strobe offers between 1-10 flashes per second, with continuous 0-100% dimming.
Launched at the recent Prolight+Sound show in Frankfurt, GLP were staggered by the response to Volkslicht, with 1,500 orders placed for the device (which begins shipping this summer).
