Kabelschlepp Metool Black Cables for Theatre and Entertainment
Kabelschlepp Metool, the UK’s largest manufacturer of flexible cable handling systems, has introduced a new range of black electrical cables for use in theatres, television studios and other branches of the entertainment industry.
Known as the Life-Line safety cable 800C Series, the range includes power, control and servo cables for fixed and mobile applications, both all-weather and indoor use, all supplied with matt black covers for minimum visibility. The range has been re-engineered with minor modifications to the materials used in order to match or exceed the performance of cables currently used in the theatre industry while reducing cost. All Life-Line cables are UL and CSA approved and are fully compatible with Metool cable reels and Kabelschlepp cable chains.
Outer covers are manufactured in a variety of materials, including synthetic rubber, PVC polyurethane, polyethylene and silicone to meet the requirements of different installations, including halogen-free properties. The main applications are: lighting rigs, sound systems, cameras, lifts and stage machinery.
Based in Beeston, Nottingham, Kabelschlepp Metool is the UK’s largest manufacturer of flexible cable and hose handling systems supplying power as well as controls to all types of moving machinery. The company works closely with consultants and leading suppliers to the theatre and entertainment industries and has recently participated in a number of major refurbishment projects, such as the London Coliseum. Products include a comprehensive range of Kabelschlepp cable carriers, drag chains, cables and festoon systems. Metool’s industrial cable and hose reels range from large motorised reels for heavy plant to smaller, spring-operated reels for workshops and mobile applications, such as broadcasting and film.
