Double Brake Hoists from Verlinde
The new motors in the Stagemaker SM16, 20 and 25 hoist range now have the option of a double brake version, guaranteeing a safety margin with a safety coefficient of 10 at a load of 1 metric ton. A patented device – the only one of its kind on the market – mechanically blocks the hoisting mechanism, preventing any possibility of slip in the event of an overload when stopped.
The lifting capacity of the Stagemaker SM16, SM20 and SM25 hoists is now combined with maximum safety for handling loads of up to 5 metric tons. The first brake (the disc brake) is situated in the usual manner at the motor. To guard against the risk of slip when the hoist is stopped, the Verlinde development teams have specifically designed a second “parking” type brake that blocks the hoisting mechanically, preventing all movement of the load. It guarantees a safety factor of 10 at 1 ton. Its safety level is such that by halving maximum permitted load, hoists SM16, SM20 and SM25 comply with European standard D8+, one of the most stringent standards with respect to safety.
The Stagemaker SM16, SM20 and SM25 motors fitted with this double brake system can accomplish a wide range pf hoisting tasks: loads of 1.6 to 5 metric tons and a speed ranging from 3 to 8 m/s, depending on the model. The hoists a re delivered with a black chain, a large capacity chain tray (up to 40m of chain), an upper and lower limit switch and a fixed perpendicular top hook.
Other features include: Class F hoisting motor; protection against overheating; dull black paint covers the entire hoist (RAL 7021); 48 v low voltage control system with contactor; 400-415V/3-phase/50Hz or 460V/3-phase/60Hz power supply; connecting cables and 4-pole 16 amp CE connector (Type P 17).
