AVL Thailand 2006

In June this year, Thailand will play host to the inaugural professional audio, visual and lighting international trade exhibition AVL Thailand 2006.

   To take place in Impact - the largest and ultra modern exhibition centre in Thailand - AVL Thailand 2006 will showcase a wide array of the latest equipment in professional audio, visual, lighting, staging, and entertainment technology to a targeted buyer audience from the emerging market of Thailand and its surrounding Indochina region.

   Fuelled by steady economic growth in Indochina, commercial buildings, theme parks, sports facilities, performance centres, cinemas, casinos and shopping malls is either being upgraded or new ones are being built. The phenomenal growth for Indochina’s booming club scene looks set to continue, and the opportunities for entertainment technology is huge. Hotels and venues in Indochina are striving to provide top-notch meetings and conferences demanding the upgrading of AV equipment and systems.

   Over 60% of exhibition space has been sold out four months ahead of the event. Top brands such as Dynacord, Klark Teknik, Midas, EAW, Martin, Meyer Sound, Nexo, Weifa Trussing, Prolyte, Panther Lighting, Avolites, Varilite, Oracle Laser, Sennheiser, and Grandview Screens have all confirmed their participation.

   General manager of Weifa Trussing from China, Mr Eric Xie says: “I expect the Indochina market to grow consistently in the next few years. “ Weifa Trussing is a major manufacturer of truss equipment and flight cases.

   Over 5,000 trade visitors are expected to visit this all important three-day exhibition which will also host an exciting line-up of technical workshops and seminars conducted by key industry experts and speakers.

   Adding the “Live” dimension to the show, visitors will be treated to a Live Speaker Demonstration where the industry’s leading loudspeaker manufacturers will be demonstrating the prowess of their speakers outdoors. There will also be live demonstrations that will showcase the latest equipment and technology.

   Exhibitors are also making plans to coincide their dealer meetings during AVL Thailand 2006 to launch their new products. Vice president and general manager of Telex Communications (SEA) Pte Ltd, Mr. Eric Lim says: “We see AVL as a meeting point for us to meet distributors in Asia and update our strategies. Indochina will be a demanding market and we see great potential.”

   As part of the organiser’s commitment to create a dynamic exhibition and encourage more business networking during the event days, an online business-scheduler program is being put in place so as to encourage and facilitate potential buyers and exhibitors meeting and interaction. Meeting rooms on the exhibition floor will be provided.

   Other activities include the ‘Local Market Familiarization’ tour. Exhibitors and visitors can sign up to tour some of the hottest clubs in Thailand with the latest installations of audio and lighting equipment to help them understand the market.
