RCF Launch TT+ High Definition Touring and Theatre System

Over the past year RCF’s research and engineering faculty have been working to produce the new TT+ high definition system. In doing so they have opened up a new chapter in the company’s long history, as one of the world’s leading audio innovators.

Because RCF is a totally integrated sound company, they have the ability to design and manufacture transducers, loudspeakers and amplifiers, as well as the all important control electronics.

The design philosophy of the TT+ series is based upon offering the sound engineer solutions and tools that are ready to use. These include the ability to sustain very high power with highly efficient sound pressure levels. The main design ethos is being able to offer the audio engineer extremely high audio quality and system efficiency.

Intense sound levels are created with extremely high definition and extended dynamic range. The use of modern construction materials has resulted in mechanical weight ratios that are light for practical flying and portability.

The TT+ line consisted of five different true active models, each one designed for a specific application.

The TTL33 line array module is a wide, constant directivity, coverage angle, with six high power neodymium transducers, three high power switching amplifiers and 96 kHz, 24 bit, floating point DSP.

The TTL33-A houses a new compression driver unit, the ND1411-MT, which has been developed by RCF specifically for array applications.

Providing a tight and loud mid-bass are two light but reliable neodymium 8” in a band pass loading configuration. It is powered by a 750 watt switching power supply and three digital amplifiers: 500 watt mid-bass, 500 watt midrange and 250 watt compression driver. All the amplifiers and digital processing are housed in an aluminium extrusion, external to the cabinet for best heat dissipation.

The TT22-A is a high output 2-way speaker and the system’s most flexible and powerful tool. The extremely careful acoustic design, plus the highest quality transducers plus the powerful amplifier makes this speaker the perfect solution for live sound situations, playback and monitoring. It features 750 watt switching amplifiers, wide, constant directivity and coverage angle, high power neodymium transducers, analogue input board, soft limiters and RMS protection.

The TT25-A offers the highest performance from an active 2-way system. The TT25-A has incredibly high output and dynamics with extreme linearity and accuracy, plus the compact size makes the TT25-A the ideal professional speaker for sound reinforcement, live performance and events. It features 1500 watt switching amplifiers, wide, constant directivity and coverage angle, high power neodymium transducers, analogue input board, soft limiters and RMS protection.

The TTS 18-A is very high output compact, bandpass subwoofer, ideal in combination with the TT+ 2 way systems or used in multiples for a very flexible system. The TT18-A and the TTS28A both boast a most superior woofer, the RCF LF 18N401, with it incredibly linear frequency response and high power handling from such a compact size.

TTS28-A is a reference double 18” bass reflex subwoofer, ideal for touring applications. The TTS28-A has digital switching amplifiers and well-designed structure, producing one the smallest and lightest double 18” units available. Its semi-charged horn design operates as a conventional bas reflex cabinet, however at slightly higher frequencies in the 80 to 100Hz area, the system then operates as a semi-charged horn loaded system design which provides around 3 to 4dB more efficiency.

RCF has also designed a full rigging system for the TT33-A Line Array module that is already fully EU Certified.

The software package for the TT33-A is designed to assist with the set-up procedures. RCF has developed a complete prediction software package, which enables a complete two-dimensional simulation of the behaviour of the TTL33-A cabinets. It also suggests the correct subwoofer combinations.

The system curvature angles and sound projection data are computed with maximum sound pressure levels for the given building design originally inputted. The software will allow simulations of up to a maximum of sixteen TTl33-A mid-high cabinets.
