Sennheiser UK announces UAE Link with Jumbo Electronics

Sennheiser UK has announced a significant tie-up with Jumbo Electronics, the leader in the consumer electronics and retail sector in the UAE for over 30 years, to distribute the range of headphones from the renowned European brand across the Middle East.

   The announcement was made by Consumer Headphones area manager, Dave Smith at a press conference and launch event in Dubai that was also attended by Arvind Nair, chief executive officer of Jumbo Electronics and Bikas C. Biswas, general manager, Channel Sales Division, Jumbo Electronics. The launch of Sennheiser products in the Middle East was also attended by partners, associates and dealers of Jumbo Electronics.

   Commenting on the tie-up with Jumbo Electronics, Dave Smith of Sennheiser UK, said: “We have put great trust in a reputed retailer like Jumbo. Their long experience as a distributor in the region and their well-established retail network makes them the perfect partner for Sennheiser in the Middle East. For us, it is an important move since the UAE, the gateway to trade in the region, is experiencing a major retail boom. We are looking at this region with increasing interest, as it develops at an astonishing pace, and a new and younger demographic profile emerges. Given the changing trends, Sennheiser is now focusing on manufacturing innovative products that complement lifestyles while enhancing the digital entertainment experience”

   Sennheiser UK's Middle East sales manager, Mig Cardamone adds: “Sennheiser operates in several diverse business areas, from pro-audio through telecoms to consumer, and our strategy is to develop the appropriate distribution and sales channels to sustain our business growth in this expanding market. Whilst Venuetech continue their good work as our distributor for Pro-Audio products, Jumbo now have sole distribution for consumer headphones. Tying up with such a prestigious consumer retailer like Jumbo Electronics serves to reinforce Sennheiser's position and we look forward to exciting times ahead.”

   To spearhead this development, Jumbo Electronics is launching three new ranges of Sennheiser headsets targeting different consumer and lifestyle needs. The seven models in the new streetwear range will be aimed at the fashion-conscious, boasting among other things, a patent-pending 'twist-to-fit' system. These headphones tread totally new paths in design, with new types of ear coupling, mirrored trim elements and cleverly designed cases.

   The second range is ideal for those who like to combine sports activities with their favourite music. The new 'Sports' range fits securely with maximum comfort and is unaffected by rain, sweat and low temperatures and includes the MX 70 Sport, winner of the Golden iF Product Design Award. These water-resistant earpieces have a cable that remains soft and flexible even at -10 degrees.

   The third range emphasizes elegance and style. It includes the ergonomically optimized earbow headphones that allow for individual height adjustment, and a choice of ear adapters in three sizes to provide a comfortable fit in the ear canal.
