Sennheiser Introduces New Digital Conference and Interpretation System
Sennheiser has launched a new digital conference and interpretation system - the SDC 8200 series. The SDC 8200 officially replaces the now discontinued SDC 3000 and SDC 8000 conference series. In addition, existing SDC 8000 systems may be easily expanded with the new SDC 8200 series. The new series introduces a central unit for smaller systems of 50 participants or less, and also incorporates key features of both the SDC 8000 and SDC 3000 systems, as well as many new exciting features.
Voting is now available on all delegate and chairman consoles of the new SDC
8200 series. In addition, volume is easily adjustable via a digital rotary level control. The camera and media control interfaces of the SDC 8200 series central units are factory-equipped, eliminating the need to purchase a separate license.
The SDC 8200 ID interpreter units are now headset-capable. In addition to the standard equipped gooseneck microphone, the new interpreter units have a 3.5mm microphone jack for connecting a headset microphone, such as the Sennheiser Communications PC series.
The SDC 8200 offers two central unit options. The new SDC 8200 CU-M designed
for small- to medium-sized conferences, handles up to 50 participant microphones with four simultaneous language channels and two interpreter units per booth. For larger conferences, the SDC 8200 CU powers up to 120 participant microphones per central unit, with the possibility of expansion for up to 1,024 participants using additional CU units. Other features of this central unit include up to 28 language channels per central unit (according to license) for interpretation and up to eight interpreter units per booth. Voting can easily be controlled directly by the SDC 8200 CV chairman's unit.
Available delegate terminals include the SDC 8200 D for standard conference systems, incorporating two headphone jacks and basic voting (one out of three); the SDC 8200 DC for conference and interpretation systems, offering channel selection; and the SDC 8200 DV, also for conference and interpretation systems, which includes display, channel selection, chip card identification and an advanced voting function (one out of five).
The new chairman's units are similarly equipped. The SDC 8200 C for standard
conference systems offers chairman functions, including a priority key for unlimited access to the floor, and basic voting (one out of three). The SDC 8200 CC, for conference and interpretation systems, features chairman functions and channel selection. The SDC 8200 CV, also for conference and interpretation systems, features display, chairman functions, channel selection, chip card identification and an advanced voting function (one out of five).
