CEDIA Lends Support to Install Middle East with Full Seminar Programme

CEDIA, the global trade association representing designers, manufacturers, installers and distributors of cutting-edge home electronics, is lending its support to Install Middle East, which forms a developing sector in this year’s PALME Middle East show in Dubai.

CEDIA will be staging a full educational programme which commences on the opening day (May 20) with a three-hour presentation on Home Cinema Design by Peter Aylett. The full programme is set out at the bottom of this release.

Meanwhile, CEDIA member (and PALME Middle East exhibitor) Opus Technologies — a leading British designer and manufacturer of multi-room entertainment systems, with a dedicated branch office in Dubai — has announced considerable demand for its smart home product amongst villa residents on The Palm Jumeirah.

Provision has been made for the award-winning Opus 500 in 1400 of Nakheel’s Signature Villas, Garden Villas and Canal Cove Townhouses with hidden cabling throughout the properties, a factor which has enabled homeowners to install the system at a significantly reduced cost.

The system will provide each villa with high quality sound in key locations including the living room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and majlis. Rich, full, high performance audio will be distributed through virtually invisible ceiling speakers and control over multiple devices (including radio, CD, iPod, Music server etc) will be provided by attractive wall mounted keypads (and remote controls) located in each room. Aligned with the latest technologies the Opus entertainment system now also offers Nakheel customers iPod connectivity.

As part of its strategic plan to further expand its services in the region, EON, another ‘smart’ home pioneer in the region, will be exhibiting for the first time at PALME Middle East. Leon Beuyukian, EON’s chief executive officer, said: “We believe that PALME is the right platform to promote our creativity and innovation.”

“PALME will merge us with the major industry decision makers and place us amongst the key players in the region, through the range of products and applications we will be introducing,” added Fayssal Daoud, chief operating officer, EON.

EON Holding Ltd was established in June 2006 in Dubai to offer Digital and Home Automation products to the GCC and Middle East markets. In October 2006, EON established it project arm EON-Circuit FZE at Dubai Airport Free Zone, which was immediately awarded a project to automate a three floor office building in DAFZA.

During the show, EON will be launching the latest cutting-edge technologies in the install field, which will be revealed to the public and media in a distinct setting and live demo. The company will combine state-of-the-art home automation and digital technology and solutions with an interactive, walk-through shopping experience for the Retail trade. “The main idea is to offer homeowners, real estate developers, consultants and contractors the widest selection of affordable electronic home improvement and home automation products possible,” says Fayssal Daoud.

Install Middle East, one of the major zones within PALME Middle East, takes place at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre between May 20-22.
