SGM on the Azadi Tower in Teheran

Like the monumental gates of ancient times, to all the visitors to Teheran since 1971, the impressive Azadi Tower indicates the entrance to the city.
The "Tower of Freedom" was built on the occasion of the 2,500th anniversary of the foundation of the Persian Empire and is located in the centre of the square of the same name, a flat 50,000m² space.
The unusual architecture of the gate combines Islamic and Sassanid architectural styles and due to this original combination seems both modern and solemn.
Fifty metres high, the Azadi Tower stands out in the immense surrounding space thanks also to the 8000 blocks of white marble from which it was built, whose shapes were calculated to the millimetre by a computer.
The unusual lines and construction material are perfectly suited to the lighting effects of the new project for illuminating the monument at night, achieved using:
56 Genio Mobile with 8° lens, installed at the side of the main path leading to the tower, 120 Palco 5 with 8° lens, on the perimeter of the building's four oblique legs and 16 Genio Mobile with 25° lens, installed on the inside part of the arch.
The entire system is controlled by a Regia 2048 Live console and a Regia 2048 Pro used as a back-up system.
Far from the past and present, at night the complex of the building and the square becomes an avant-garde site, thanks to the effect of the LED light fixtures.
The SGM fixtures, supplied by TechnoPro L.L.C., were perfectly able to meet the need to avoid mounting screws, brackets or other hardware necessary for installing the units directly on the historic building's structure.
In particular, the Palco 5 were fitted in a special channel dug round the tower and then covered with glass.
