New Pro Series Consoles

Building on the success of the highly regarded MagicQ consoles, ChamSys launched its second generation of consoles, the MagicQ Pro series. The Pro series was first displayed in the UK at PLASA 07 last month and the reception was phenomenal for not only the new Pro Series, but also for the full range of products and has resulted in an unprecedented number of orders flooding in to ChamSys ever since.
The MagicQ Pro series retains the superb MagicQ operating system and application software whilst enhancing performance, styling and connectivity. MagicQ Pro is available in three sizes, MQ100 Pro, MQ200 Pro and MQ300 Pro in a similar way to the original MQ100, MQ200 and MQ300 consoles. It is completely compatible with the MagicQ series, utilising the same software and show formats. MagicQ Pro features the familiar and flexible GUI lighting control, media server connectivity options and in-built media server for LED grid arrays found in the original MagicQ consoles.
MagicQ Pro pushes the boundaries with a massive 18 universes all controlled and processed on-board without a need for external network processors. 9226 channels in a compact package, proven to run at full speed with all channels fully patched – there really is no similarly packaged console that can sustain this performance. MagicQ supports ArtNet and Pathport protocols and is ACN ready. In additional there are four fully patchable direct DMX outputs on the rear panel. The consoles feature an enhanced stylish metal bezel around the touch-screen ensuring maximum durability for use in tough environments. New, ultra responsive soft buttons around the touch-screen ensure maximum workflow sustainability. It features an in-built high speed Ethernet switch, with four separate high durability metal Neutrik Ethercon locking connectors on the rear panel enabling easy and reliable networking. As with the rest of the MagicQ console, the Ethernet switch is protected by a UPS, thus ensuring that both the console and the network switch maintain operation even during power loss. In addition, the networking connectivity supports a high-speed optical fibre connection port option. MagicQ Pro also utilises additional USB ports on the rear including high durability locking USB connectors ensuring reliable connection to MagicQ extension Wings and other MagicQ components. MagicQ Pro includes an additional specialised USB/power source combo connector for direct connection of external USB devices with high power utilisation – cutting out the need for powering the USB devices from separate unprotected power sources. Multiple direct VGA outputs are supported from the rear panel giving programmers and designers the maximum options for information display and selection. Additional touch screen monitors can be connected directly to the rear panel.
This is another example of how ChamSys and their MagicQ systems is a firm favourite among the professional lighting industry.
