Lab.gruppen PLM 10000Q Nominated for TEC Award
The Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio recently announced that Lab.gruppen's PLM 10000Q has been nominated for a Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the Amplifier Technology category. The TEC Awards, sponsored by Mix magazine, is the world's most prominent forum honoring outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product design. Winners will be announced in San
Francisco on October 3 during the Audio Engineering Society (AES) convention.
Lab.gruppen managing director Tomas Lilja is delighted with the nomination. "We have collaborated with some of the biggest names in pro audio, notably Dolby Lake from a manufacturing point of view, and Clair Brothers from a user perspective in order to create a series of products that is perfectly suited to the demands of modern tour sound," he noted. "The result is our new Powered Loudspeaker Management or PLM Series which goes way beyond the capacities of a traditional power amplifier to offer touring companies a new way of doing business. By replacing their traditional amplifier solution with PLM, companies can radically reduce the size and weight of their racks and still come out on top in terms of power, sound quality and processing power thanks to the unique combination of a tried and tested Lab.gruppen amplifier platform with industry-standard Dolby Lake processing. We're very pleased that the TEC Awards panel of industry professionals has recognized the pioneering achievement in developing such a product with a nomination for a coveted TEC Award."
Conceived from the outset as a comprehensive drive system for any type of loudspeaker, the PLM 10000Q utilizes proven Dolby Lake Processor technology and expands upon it with a suite of load verification and performance monitoring features. Its power amplification builds on the foundation of the road-tested FP+ and legendary fP Series providing the same sonic signature - powerful, tight bass and transparent high frequency response. The PLM Series establishes new benchmarks for high power and channel density, while at the same time providing digital signal processing, system management, and protection features found in no other product.
