SGM Pilot 3000 Arrives

The new SGM Pilot 3000 software Version 2.0 adds interesting functions and indispensable improvements, many intended for users who need to control lighting rigs with advanced operating modes. The new software now supports additional cue storage systems and new faster scene programming and management tools.

Updating is easy. The new Pilot 3000 software Version 2.0 is available immediately free of charge to all Pilot 3000 owners and users.

With the new software version, the Pilot 3000 internal operating architecture has been changed. In the previous structure, the Pilot 3000 software required the constant presence of a Memory Card for writing and reading the data regarding the Current Show (SHOW FILE) on which one was working. Now, the data of the show current and fixture library are stored on the on-board memory of the Pilot 3000, thus enabling operation without a compact flash card. The compact flash card is used exclusively as a mass memory for show backup.

A new programming tool is now available, called "Fan". This enables the generation of progressive "fan-type" variations of a given parameter (e.g. colour Magenta) on a series of several Fixtures.

The management of controllers has been expanded. The Group Master mode has been implemented to attenuate the lighting level of one or more groups of Fixtures and the Manual Cue mode has been completely upgraded. The slider now controls the crossfade between the current status of the console and the scene stored on the slider itself, allowing the operator to gradually modify scenes being played out without any nasty glitches.

In addition, control via MIDI functions have been implemented. Pilot 3000 can now be controlled by means of MIDI communication protocol. This function is very useful when scene playback has to be controlled by means of musical instruments, software or units using MIDI protocol as standard. Two new Cue storage modes (Snapshot and Controllers) have been introduced with the new software version, adding greater programming flexibility.

With the new Software version, all the configured fixtures that use a CMY or RGB colour-changing system can use four different sets of colour palettes: Rosco, Lee, GAM or Chris James.

Separate systems for the total release of the Registers and the Controllers have now been implementedm and Pilot 3000 is now able to control Fixtures with inverted Attributes.

This is possible by setting the values Min and Max of an Attribute in the *.fxr file as 100% and 0% respectively - a very useful feature for easier control of fixtures that have their dimmer open at 0% and closed at 100%.

Finally, the new "Read" function enables the import of current values of DMX output for all the fixtures selected directly to the Editor.
