Tomcat and InterAmerica Stage at InfoComm09
Tomcat has announced they will be on hand for this year's InfoComm Exhibition June 17-19 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. They can be found at booth #1663 featuring their latest products: Sky, Edge and (core). Tomcat is also partnering with InterAmerica Stage, a specialty equipment company that provides rigging and show system solutions to the broadcasting and entertainment industry, in their promotion of SkyDeck.
SkyDeck is a modular wire grid system that provides safe access to theatrical lighting, audio cables, loudspeakers, stage rigging, and effects. It is the safe, flexible alternative to other industry options. InterAmerica Stage will be located next to Tomcat at booth #1665.
Accompanying the InterAmerica SkyDeck system is Tomcat's Sky product. Sky is a ladder beam truss product with a sturdy spigot connection. It's designed for light, medium and heavy duty applications over short and large spans. It utilizes a "Star Connection" system or can also be connected direct and has a range of accessories making it ideal for building grid structures and modular trusses. Its ladders are light weight, easy to handle and provides for a quick assembly and disassembly.
The (core) product range is brand new and has two sizes available: (core)12 and (core)18. Tomcat has essentially taken conventional 12" X 12" and 12" X 18" light duty box truss and modified the components to provide a more efficient truss - at a more efficient price. (core)12 and (core)18 both offer a 200 lb increase over conventional light duty. (core) offers a considerably stronger option at an unbeatable price. It is light duty stripped to the core. A 20.5" X 20.5" version, (core)20, is expected to be available later this summer.
Edge is Tomcat's newest intelligent pre-rig truss. Its 30" X 24" format optimizes truck space by allowing four trusses wide in a truck and stacking three high. Edge offers added flexibility with rotating spigots and interchangeable ladders. With a rotating spigot, a traditional corner block is not required. This reduces storage, shipping and cost for corner block accessories. The interchangeable ladder feature provides the option to replace the ladders if they are damaged as opposed to the entire section of truss. Edge offers not only flexibility, but also a huge cost savings in every area of touring - truck space, shipping weight, reduced accessories, storage and replacement parts.
