Lab.gruppen PLM 14000 Nominated for TEC Award

The Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio recently announced that Lab.gruppen's PLM 14000 has been nominated for a Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the Ancillary Equipment category. The TEC Awards, sponsored by Mix magazine, is the world's most prominent forum honoring outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product design. Winners will be announced during the 127th Audio Engineering Society (AES) Convention in New York.

Lab.gruppen CEO Ulf Larson is delighted with the nomination. "This is the second year running that a PLM product has been nominated for a TEC Award," he noted with pride. "Last year it was the ground-breaking PLM 10000Q, and this year, it's the even more powerful PLM 14000. It is proof that the concept of allying world class DSP from Lake with our industry-standard and road-tested amplifier platform isn't just a great idea on paper, but it works in the real world too."

"By replacing their traditional amplifier solution with PLM, companies can radically reduce the size and weight of their racks and still come out on top in terms of power, sound quality and processing power thanks to the unique Lab.gruppen/Lake Processing combination," continued Larson. "We're very pleased that the TEC Awards panel of industry professionals has recognized the pioneering achievement in developing such a product with a nomination for a coveted TEC Award."

Built around a two-channel amplifier platform optimized for high-power requirements, the PLM 14000 pumps a massive 7000 W per channel into 2 ohms and 4350 W per channel into 4 ohms, making it ideal for demanding subwoofer and low-end applications. As with the four-channel PLM 10000Q, PLM 14000 integrates Dante networked audio distribution, Lake Processing, and load verification with real-time performance monitoring into a single 2U hardware unit plus unified software controller.
