Community Launch New IO (Indoor/Outdoor) Loudspeaker Models

Community Professional Loudspeakers has announced the launch of the new IO-5 and IO-8 low impedance Indoor/Outdoor loudspeakers systems, together with the IO-5T and IO-8T 70/100V versions with built-in transformers.

The IO-5 is a 2-way compact system, ideal for installations where space is at a premium. The 5” polypropylene long-excursion mid/bass driver is coupled to a smooth sounding ½” Mylar diaphragm horn HF unit in a discreet, trapezoidal, high impact, moulded enclosure. Power handling is 60W programme and dispersion a well-controlled 90 degrees horizontal by 50 degrees vertical. The sound quality, as you would expect from Community, is both dynamic and natural and with excellent intelligibility the IO-5 is ideal for both music and speech applications. The IO-5T version has a built-in 20W low-loss transformer, designed for high quality audio performance and with installer adjustable tappings on the base of the enclosure. All ‘T’ versions also have an 8? position in addition to the 70/100V settings.

For installations with more space the IO-8 provides higher sound pressure levels and greater bass extension, using an 8” polypropylene long-excursion mid/bass driver and a ½” Mylar diaphragm horn HF unit. Dispersion is again 90 degrees horizontal by 50 degrees vertical but with higher sensitivity and power handling increased to 120W programme. The transformer size is also increased on the IO-8T to 40W.

Installation of all models is simple and flexible using the included Infin-A-Ball bracket and weather resistance is assured with the use of the moulded enclosures, drive unit materials and zinc-plated steel grilles.

With an appearance that aesthetically merges well in most environments, combined with weather resistant capability, the IO series can be used in a wide variety of speech and music applications including swimming pools, sports stadia and facilities, health and fitness clubs, houses of worship, cruise ships, educational facilities, corporate A/V, bars and restaurants.
