Creation Lighting Console Shipping Soon

Creation, the large lighting console presented by GLP as a prototype at the Pro Light & Sound in Frankfurt, has now reached the pre-production stage and should be ready to ship by the end of the year.

It will be possible to control extensive set-ups with the Creation. Designed from scratch and featuring eye-catching night-styling, the Creation is equipped with a 300 MHz CPU and Linux operating system. In its standard version, it will be capable of controlling 1,024 DMX channels, freely assignable to devices or dimmers, with the number increasing to 4,096 DMX channels in the fully-expanded version. There will be no limit either to the number of devices or to the number of channels per device that can be controlled by the console.

An illuminated interface comprising 22 motorized faders, 6 encoders, 80 preset keys, 80 program keys and an integrated trackball facilitates the programming and implementation of light shows. The preset and program keys are freely assignable. All essential information is displayed on the integrated 12” TFT colour screen.

Pan and tilt movements as well as all the other functions of moving lights can be programmed simply and swiftly with the integrated effects generator, whilst the onboard CD drive and stereo loudspeakers make it possible to synchronize the light show to music CDs. In the event of a mains power failure in mid performance, the console can be run from the accumulator battery without any loss of continuity. Data can be stored conveniently on USB memory sticks and an Ethernet interface is provided to permit the integration of the console into networks as well as the interaction with other devices via DMX-In, MIDI and SMPTE/time code.
