Scissor Sisters On Tour with Sennheiser
Sennheiser endorsees, Scissor Sisters, hit the road again last week with an 18-date UK tour starting in Bournemouth and including Barrowlands Glasgow, Carling Apollo Manchester, the Royal Albert Hall and four dates at the Brixton Academy at the beginning of November. A US tour then takes them throughout the southern and mid-west states during November and December, ending up in NYC for a massive Christmas party. At the end of December they return for concerts in Dublin and Belfast and Hogmanay in Edinburgh to complete the UK tour.
Sennheiser mics are used throughout together with evolution G2 in-ear monitoring. The mics include evolution G2 radio hand-held, e840 for backing vocals and e604, e614 and e609 on drums. The Scissors tour is also the first to use the brand new e901 and e902 mics on kick drum.
Ben Booker (monitors) and Dave Kay (FOH) are both enthusiastic about the mics. Dave Kay comments: “We started using Sennheiser throughout in around June of this year for the busy festival season. The G2 products are a major advance on the previous range and easily surpass anything at this level and most at any price.” Ben continues: “The sound quality across the range is great and the radio completely stable, allowing us to mix with real confidence.” They are also very impressed with the new e901 and e902 mics: “They give us a really solid bottom end to pump the dance numbers along.”
The Scissor Sisters have just released their epic new single, ‘Mary’, receiving critical acclaim with their fans and notching up the prestigious ‘single of the week’ in NME.
