Blitz Preferred by Emap
Blitz, one of the UK's leading providers of audiovisual equipment and services, has been retained by Emap Conferences as one of its preferred AV suppliers for the media company's one-day conferences. The collaboration will see Blitz work for Emap on around 50 one-day conferences a year, having successfully provided a complete package of support and equipment for two smaller Emap conferences in May and July this year.
Emap first worked with Blitz in May 2004 and supplied its services for a one-day conference in Piccadilly, London, for approximately 100 delegates. Following this, the partnership was successfully renewed in July 2004 for an event on DVD authoring hosted by Emap's Screen International magazine entitled ‘DVD - the home cinema summit’. As the nature of the conference placed a high emphasis on the quality delivery of set-design and equipment, Blitz once again worked closely with Emap to ensure that the kit supplied met the practical needs of the delegates.
Jon Foster, account handler at Blitz remarked: "The real challenge for us at Blitz was to consistently provide our products and services across all of Emap's smaller conferences, bearing in mind that we are established in the market for larger conferences. However, we are delighted to have proven ourselves in this area, especially for one of the UK's leading media companies. This project has shown how flexible our business processes can be, we were able to adapt even the smallest detail to help Emap. For example, the conferences required a great rapidity in our operations. Consequently, we even re-evaluated the way in which we pack our AV equipment in order to ensure that we were able to install and de-rig them swiftly.
"In view of the positive feedback received from Emap, we believe that our large stock makes us an ideal supplier for these events. However, Blitz will look to invest in new equipment in order to continue to provide Emap with up-to-date solutions for its conferences."
