Canegreen with the Corrs

Canegreen with the Corrs

Whilst the bands line-up changed to accommodate drummer Caroline’s giving birth mid-tour, the Corrs tour manager, Henry McGroggan drew on the experiences of tried and tested technical suppliers to create a stunning set, lighting and sound. Canegreen have managed the sound for the Corrs live shows since they first ‘broke’ the UK in 1998. Henry said: “The Corrs has grown with Canegreen and as the technology has moved on over the years, Canegreen has kept right up to date in terms of offering us new equipment that will help make the band sound better. I would say Canegreen is one of the most forward thinking companies I know – full stop.”

On this Borrowed Heaven tour, Canegreen’s MD Yan Stile suggested that the band use their recently developed Meyer Milo line array system and Meyer 700HP SP sub woofers in tandem with some more traditional Meyer speakers; certain that it would suit the bands style and give them the best sound across the range of large venues on this tour. He also advised front of house engineer, Max Bisgrove, on the issue of “going digital” and switching from a Midas XL4 to using the new Yamaha PM1D digital console.

“This tour has been a lot of fun; it’s all run very smoothly and when things are running smoothly it gives George (Brecker) and I a chance to see what we can do to tweak things and getting them even better. I love the ethos of the Canegreen guys in that like me, we’re always looking to push things and see what we can improve.”

The main rig consisted of a carefully selected arrangement of eight Meyer M3D line array units, with 12 Meyer Milo line array elements and four Meyer M2D small line array speakers, with four Milo’s and eight M2D’s used for the bleacher speakers with Meyer MSL4 SP and Meyer UPA-1P SP speakers used for in/out near-fills. Pete ‘Mini’ Moore was the band’s monitor engineer, using a Midas Heritage 3000 with a 16 channel stretch to accommodate the band and to deliver the monitor mix, to a pair of Meyer MSL4 side-fills and the bands own Shure radio in-ear monitor system.

George Brecker was Canegreen’s front of house technician on the tour, was also pleased with the tour, saying: “The team has worked together very well so this has been a very enjoyable tour. The combination OF people and excellent equipment has created good sound at the outdoor festivals and a wide range of venues. I like the new Meyer Remote Monitoring System, which is a network system that allows us to keep a detailed eye on how the amps are performing and I can see this product developing to be even more useful.”
