CIA Appoint Star Rigging
Cardiff International Arena is Wales’s premium concert and events arena, hosting a wide range of events in 2004. The venue, owned by ClearChannel Entertainment, has appointed Star Rigging to ensure the rigging procedures on all events are implemented safely and within all legal guidelines.
This contract sees Star Rigging building similar ongoing relationships with Newcastle Arena, Manchester’s MEN Arena and London’s Wembley Arena.
Star Rigging will manage all technical aspects of the rigging, including ensuring the rigging points in the roof of the venue aren’t overloaded, by careful planning and supplying an in-house rigger to assist any incoming riggers with their venue knowledge. Directors Mark Armstrong and Phil Broad have written a safe working procedures document specific to the venue that the in-house rigger will make sure are adhered to at every event.
The CIA venue manager Graham Walters commented: “We are aware of the reputation of Star Rigging and hope they will bring the same level of professionalism to the CIA we are aware of in the other venues they work in. Bringing in Star Rigging will be another factor in us making life as easy as possible for incoming productions and underlines our commitment to running safe events.”
