David Wilkins Joins Selecon
Mike Goldberg, Selecon’s European sales director comments: “This is a very positive appointment. David has a great deal of experience in the lighting industry and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Wilkins originally trained in stage management at the Guildford School of Acting following which he gained industry experience working for a number of hire companies rigging lighting and staging equipment. It was the lighting side of the business that caught his imagination and he joined Strand Lighting where he stayed for seven years doing a variety of jobs including estimator, project manager and mobile sales engineer.
A variety of other jobs, mainly in the lighting industry, gave him the broad experience that he now brings to Selecon. “My job primarily is to manage the UK operation and look after our network of distributors,” said Wilkins. “Working in the industry means I am familiar with the comprehensive range of Selecon lighting products and the way that Selecon operate. I’m convinced that the Selecon range is as good as it gets and the fact that the company is putting a lot of R&D into luminaire design is impressive.
“I want to bring the Selecon dealer network together to form a family of expertise and support that is accepted and respected in all our markets,” concluded Wilkins.
