Klotz Digital and SmartAV Announce Strategic Alliance
Klotz Digital has announced a joint sales and marketing agreement with SmartAV, the Australian based manufacturer of audio production consoles. The agreement will permit Klotz to seamlessly integrate SmartAV’s family of production consoles with its VADIS (Variable Audio Distribution Interface System) audio/media platform, offering customers the option to tie SmartAV consoles into any new or existing VADIS system. To provide this solution Klotz Digital Australia developed a TCP/IP based interface, establishing an open connection protocol between different manufacturers’ hardware.
The VADIS platform acts as an engine for SmartAV’s control surfaces. It brings large audio matrix and multiple audio format capability to the SmartAV products and provides a unique yet efficient approach to audio routing, fibre-optic distribution and format conversion, and includes a wide range of DSP functions and machine control. Multiple control locations can share sources, wide area logic control, signal routing, splitting and more. In addition VADIS also permits flexible system designs with remote input and output capabilities that can be connected easily via fibre-optic cabling.
“This is another step along the VADIS strategy of an open audio platform concept. Klotz Digital is providing its customers with access to a select group of high quality third party equipment,” says David Spargo, general manager of Klotz Digital Australia. He continues: "Again our customers undoubtedly benefit from the unparalleled flexibility our systems provide.”
"We are very excited about the partnership with Klotz Digital,” says Joseph Narai, managing director of SmartAV. “It offers us a significant opportunity to work together with a leading and renowned manufacturer of enhanced digital audio/media routing solutions – a necessity for improved workflow in today's evolving production environment.”
To seal the partnership, SmartAV showcased the Smart Console together with Klotz Digital’s VADIS Audio/Media platform at the recent AES event in San Francisco, California, USA.
