KV2 Sound System for Sky Nightclub
Xtreme Audio Visual were recently commissioned by their client Ware Leisure, to design and install a complete audio visual package for Sky Nightclub in Ware, Hertfordshire. The main club is split into two rooms, Daylight, the main dance area, and the Sunset VIP Lounge.
Daylight presented an acoustical challenge to Xtreme having multiple levels of vaulted ceilings along with raised floor levels. Such variations of reflective surfaces often result in cancellation problems in certain areas and excessive bass in others.
To overcome these problems, Xtreme opted to use the KV2 ES Active driven system consisting of four x ES1.0, two x ES2.5, two x ES1.8 and two x ES1.5, powered by four x EPAK 2500’s, using an Audia Solo for the processing and routing.
The system was designed in conjunction with KV2’s Andy Austin Brown. Due to the layout of the venue, coupled with the multitude of events planned for the system, the design was not straight forward and required careful thought.
Utilizing Austin Brown’s intimate knowledge of the KV2 products enabled them to come up with an audio solution to all the problems encountered. The end result more than proves this. One special request from the client was that, whilst the system should perform and be up front sonically, from an aesthetic point of view the cabinets had to blend in and take more of a back seat. To accommodate this, KV2 Audio produced the cabinets specially colour coded in sky grey/blue, allowing the system to blend in perfectly. Craig Wiggins of Xtreme commented: “Sonically the system is magnificent, providing a solid bottom end along with crystal clear vocals – a brilliant all rounder!”
The Sunset Lounge has been fitted with the smaller powered KV2 EX system.
With aesthetics equally important, the system is once again colour coded in a dark terracotta. The quality of sound most is impressive, the compact system consisting of four x EX10s and two x EX2.2s.
A final word from Craig Wiggins of Xtreme: “In growing our business it is important to keep up with the latest advances in Audio visual technologies. To that end we enjoy the fresh approach that manufacturers like KV2 Audio are bringing to the table, and the benefits that their products represent to our clients.”
