Audio Alliance Invests in Meyer Sound SIM 3

Corporate audio specialist Audio Alliance have become one of the first rental companies in the UK to invest in the new Meyer Sound SIM 3 audio analyser system.

Audio Alliance director Oliver Driver has until now been hiring its predecessor, the award winning SIM II, since becoming a qualified SIM engineer nearly two years ago. When the new model was launched, the purchase was an easy decision for Driver to make, as SIM 3 represented greatly increased power and added features, at a fraction of the original size and cost.

Being so simple to set up and operate with such fast response times, SIM 3 is ideally suited to Audio Alliance's style of business - short-term turn around projects. Driver comments: “Although many of our clients may not necessarily understand SIM 3, they are all intrigued and extremely impressed when they watch what it can do and how it seems to SEE sound!”

Soon after arriving at Audio Alliance's Manchester warehouse, SIM 3 was put straight to work on a sales and marketing conference. Six hundred delegates attended a major event at the Birmingham Metropole hotel hosted by Select Service Partners, and organised by production company Airplay.

SIM 3 will be used by the Audio Alliance team on all large-scale projects, and has already become an essential part of their tool kit. It will definitely be employed in Prague this coming January for Roche pharmaceuticals, who are hosting a weeklong conference, where sound and communications will be supplied by Audio Alliance for a main auditorium, several breakout rooms and a gala dinner. An event like this is where SIM 3 comes into its own, especially with its portability and speed.

Oliver Driver is delighted with his new toy and is enjoying the benefits of having such a user-friendly interface. “He claims: 'It's a fabulous tool and so unique, what I really like is that it is a dedicated analyser and not a computer, whilst at the same time offering fast and efficient processing power, as well as the ability to set delays in only five minutes. I truly feel that a system that has had the SIM 3 treatment really sounds coherent. Something impossible to achieve at the same speed, using any other method.”
